Legislative History
The New Brunswick Office of the Comptroller annually publishes employee salary and expense disclosures as supplementary schedules to New Brunswick's Public Accounts. Unlike other provinces, the disclosures are not established under a standalone piece of provincial legislation.
Dataset
The following fields are included in the dataset:
- Employee Name
- Employer
- Salary: regular earnings, overtime, personal service contracts and other remuneration; exact amount through 2008, then reported in $25,000 bands
- Retirement Allowance / Severance: reported as $10,000 or $25,000-wide bands
- Travel and Other Expenses: exact dollar figure; travel and miscellaneous business expenses
- Member's Annual Indemnity: exact dollar figure; base salary paid to any Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA)
- Ministerial Salary: exact dollar figure; additional stipend paid to a sitting Minister on top of their MLA indemnity
- Car Allowance: exact dollar figure; vehicle allowance paid to certain senior roles (ministers, deputy ministers)
Annual Thresholds
- Salary: $80,000 or more (previously $60,000 before 2021 and $40,000 before 2008)
- Retirement allowance / severance: $15,000 or more (previously $10,000 before 2021)
- Travel and other expenses: $15,000 or more for non-ministers, no threshold for ministers (previous $10,000 or more for non-ministers before 2021)
- Car allowance: no threshold
- Ministerial salary: no threshold
- Members' annual indemnity: no threshold
